Matheson Statement on Extension of Unemployment Benefits

Washington D.C.—Congressman Jim Matheson said the House will pass a bipartisan emergency 13-week extension of unemployment benefits (HR 5749) with his support.

“Rising gas and food prices are making it even harder for unemployed Utahns to make ends meet. This will provide a short-term safety net for them and for their families,” said Matheson.

Matheson said the Department of Labor projects an estimated 12,750 Utahns would be eligible under the bill.
