Matheson Transportation Safety Projects Included in New Highway BillWashington D.C.—Congressman Jim Matheson said the bipartisan transportation bill sent to the President today includes technical corrections that will move several vital Utah projects forward. The law makes changes to remedy problems in an earlier comprehensive federal highway authorization bill that had kept some projects on hold. “From bridge repairs in Washington County to pedestrian and bicycle access in Moab, some important safety improvements had been stalled. This bill clears the obstacles so that local and state transportation officials can move forward,” said Matheson. Matheson said he successfully advocated for the following projects in Washington, San Juan and Grand counties:
“Investing in infrastructure enhances safety and boosts the economy. I’m very pleased that the needs of local communities can be advanced with this bipartisan bill,” said Matheson. # # # |
