Salt Lake City, UT—Congressman Jim Matheson has scheduled two information sessions in Utah for high school students interested in attending any of the five military service academies.

Each Member of Congress nominates candidates for a limited number of vacancies at West Point, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.  High school students should begin considering the application process in the spring of their junior year. Candidates are selected on a competitive basis.

Representatives from the service academies have been invited to participate. Matheson’s staff will give a presentation and hold a question-and-answer session on the following dates:
